Los Angeles has no shortage of upscale beauty and wellness services, but this year has welcomed a wave of openings — reflecting the growth of prestige beauty, valued at $31.7 billion last year in the U.S. alone. Those prepping for awards season red carpets and events, or just looking to be pampered, have plenty of new addresses to visit, from luxury nail salon Townhouse, arriving from the U.K., to celebrated esthetician Joanna Czech’s debut L.A. spa, housed at L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills. Below are the highlights:
-
Hume
Hume, a private wellness club near the beach, blends fitness and wellness seamlessly in a gorgeous and serene 13,500-square-foot space designed by cofounder Sandy Bole, who has a background in architecture. He and Roger Briggs — coming from the private equity sector — teamed to bring together training and recovery with a range of classes, a private Pilates studio, and spa with saunas, steam rooms, cold plunges and hyperbolic oxygen chambers. After opening in 2024, the community has grown organically, mainly through word-of-mouth, said Briggs. “The idea at its core was building a beautiful gym and combining it with elements of traditional bathhouses,” he added. Membership is $395 a month, with a $500 initiation fee; separate add-ons include private training and wellness therapies like lymphatic massage.

Townhouse
Townhouse, a prestige nail salon brand founded in 2018 in the U.K., has opened its first U.S. location in Beverly Hills. The concept was born out of founder frustrations with unreliable nail services, and an effort to elevate the industry with a focus on high-quality treatments and impeccable hygiene standards. “I wanted to create a space that felt luxurious and people wanted to spend time,” said founder Juanita Huber-Millet, who opened Townhouse’s first location in London and has grown the brand to 40 locations. With a unique “Townhouse way” of training, Huber-Millet emphasizes consistency across locations. Pricing varies across markets, starting at $55 for a color manicure in Beverly Hills. Next — off the heels of a Kate Somerville collaboration — Huber-Millet plans to expand further, starting with a new location in West Hollywood. “We want to bring this elevated experience to every major city in the U.S.”

New Lounge
Focused on Japanese lash extension techniques and highly personalized nail services, New Lounge is Rodeo Drive’s newest addition in beauty, and founder Rachelle Bravo’s first U.S. location. Opening in Beverly Hills is a significant milestone for the family-owned brand, which has roots in the Philippines. Bravo first opened a small 390-square-foot space in Latina, a city in the Cebu province, with nine employees in 2017; the business now employs about 160 people. “We focus on service integrity and creating opportunities for young women,” said Bravo, who now runs 17 locations. A new set of lash extensions is priced starting at $250, while custom nail art by an in-house Japanese manicurist is $300 and up.

La Maison Valmont
At La Maison Valmont, a luxury Swiss skin care and fragrance brand, the emphasis is on science and indulgence. Along with a selection of its product lines, high-concentration formulas created in an in-house lab, the Beverly Hills boutique offers a range of high-end facial treatments. The selection includes the Red Carpet Facial, using diamond microdermabrasion, at $850. With boutiques and spa services worldwide in Europe and Asia, the brand and its special facial massage techniques have been available at the The Beverly Hills Hotel spa in L.A. and The Carlyle in New York, but this signifies its first standalone U.S. location. Dating back to 1905 with founder Dr. Henry-Auguste Widmer, it’s now run by Sophie Vann Guillon, chief executive officer, and her husband Didier. “We chose this location because it means so much to everyone in Beverly Hills, a place where people are proud to be,” said Guillon of the spa’s prime real estate at Via Rodeo. Valmont’s clients are “savvy individuals who choose quality and visible results,” she said of regulars. In Beverly Hills, they offer a VIP entrance with valet and private elevator that brings you directly to the boutique.

Joanna Czech Studio
Beauty esthetician Joanna Czech is at the top of her game. A Chanel ambassador, she is the go-to for Hollywood’s top talents and names including Kim Kardashian, Bella Hadid and Cara Delevingne, especially for red carpet prep. After unveiling stand-alone spas in New York City and Dallas, while hosting pop-ups in L.A., she now has a home at L’Ermitage Hotel in Beverly Hills. “I opened this studio to create personalized programs for clients, especially in light of major events and ceremonies in L.A.,” she told WWD. “If you get nominated for an award, we still have six weeks or four weeks to prepare you and for you to come back on a weekly basis. And my incredible team member, Melissa Quinn, who I brought on to train and oversee the studio while I’m away, can easily make her own decisions. I always make myself available through FaceTime for consultations with my clients as well. And the best part is, the Ricari Studios Spa has body treatments and a hair dressing salon, so clients can experience results from head to toe.” Her LED facial, the signature, starts at $450, while the cryo drainage facial and enzymatic resurfacing facials are $275 and up.
