Tesla settles lawsuit over sudden acceleration death

Tesla has settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the estate of Clyde Leach, who died in 2021 after his Tesla Model Y experienced a sudden acceleration while in autopilot mode and crashed. The terms of the settlement, disclosed on 21 April 2025 in a federal court in San Francisco, were not made public.
