Street Style Trends From Pitti Uomo 2024: Neutral Summer Suits, Baseball Hats, Denim Shorts

Street style may be one of those fashion terms that are met with a touch of sarcasm and eye rolling from jaded fashion insiders. Yet it still holds a place of power when defining trends and taking the temperature of how relevant a category of menswear is at present.

This season for the Pitti tribe, it was the traditionalist — albeit with a taste of flamboyance — that set the tone. It was all about softly constructed tailoring in different shades of beiges and whites. And plaid blazers gave a new spin to separates, another key sartorial direction.

Hats are one of those accessories that are king for this tribe. Of course the Panama hat is ubiquitous as always, and in past seasons the cowboy hat with boots combo emerged as a leading trend. But this time around, it was the logo embellished baseball hat — often paired with suits — that dominated. Be forewarned though: the trucker hat, a polarizing choice, is also on the rise.

While the runway fashion crowd is celebrating the return of the tie, this tribe is going the opposite direction, opting for the omnipresent bandana handkerchief instead. The full look included a layered tank top for a rougher look, or a ’50s tonal knit polo or camp shirt for the more polished peacocks.

For the more casual lovers, denim shorts — over the knee of course — white tanks tops, soccer jerseys and textured shirts worn as jackets were the key references.
