Selena Gomez brought the red trend to the BFI London Film Festival on Friday, where she attended the premiere of her new film, “Emilia Perez.”
The actress selected a red Oscar de la Renta gown featuring a flared pleated skirt and a twist detail at the waistline. Gomez added on matching Christian Louboutin pumps and diamond Chaumet jewelry, including a necklace, dangle earrings and rings.
The “Only Murders in the Building” star was styled by Erin Walsh, who also counts Anne Hathaway and Elizabeth Banks as clients.
Hairdresser Renato Campora styled Gomez’s brunette tresses in a sleek ponytail, while makeup artist Hung Vanngo gave her winged eyeliner and a nude lip.
Earlier this month, Gomez stepped out during the New York Film Festival, where she promoted “Emilia Perez” in a series of pared-down looks.
First, she wore an off-the-shoulder Awake Mode top, pairing it with high-waisted light wash Banana Republic jeans and a black leather Celine belt. Gomez accessorized with Jimmy Choo pumps and a Saint Laurent handbag.
Later that evening, Gomez changed into a twill Prada minidress featuring a gold safety pin brooch and a leather logo patch on the skirt, layered over a black Wolford turtleneck and sheer tights. Gomez topped off her second ensemble with gold and diamond jewelry by Eriness, patent leather peep-toe platforms by Giuseppe Zanotti a soft leather Prada purse.
Costarring Zoe Saldana, “Emilia Perez” is a Spanish-language musical comedy directed by Jacques Audiard. It had its world premiere at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in May.
Thanks to labels like Versace, Balmain and Bottega Veneta, red has resurged as a major color trend for fall. Stars such as Gomez, Florence Pugh and Reese Witherspoon have modeled shades of scarlet at high-profile events including the Golden Globes and the Emmys.
