Queen Camilla Favors Pink Fiona Clare Dress With Sentimental Jewelry for Veterans Tribute at D-Day Anniversary Event With King Charles and Prince William

Queen Camilla opted for a subdued springtime ensemble for the commemorative D-Day 80th anniversary in Portsmouth, England, on Wednesday. The queen consort joined husband King Charles III and Prince William, both of whom shared remarks, for the occasion.

For the event, Queen Camilla fashioned an ensemble by one of her favorite, go-to designers: Fiona Clare. The British royal family member wore a soft pink dress with coordinated coat for the occasion. Queen Camilla paired the ensemble with a hat by Philip Treacy in the same shade of pink, which complemented the monochrome ensemble.

Opting for comfort and keeping the focus on her sartorial statement, Queen Camilla chose to wear a pair of neutral heels by Eliot Zed.

When it came to the pieces of jewelry Queen Camilla chose to wear, the gemstone she favored may have been a nod to the resilience of World War II veterans and the British royal family. Queen Camilla wore a pair of pearl earrings along with a four-strand pearl necklace linked by a diamond encrusted piece at the center.

Pearls are among some of the strongest gemstones, capable of withstanding natural elements. Given the strength of such a piece, Queen Camilla’s choice of necklace and jewelry may have been a nod to veterans of World War II as well as recognition of the fortitude shown by members of the British royal family.

Both King Charles and Kate Middleton are currently undergoing treatment for undisclosed forms of cancer.
