Queen Camilla Favors Botanical Inspiration in Fiona Clare Dress for Royal Visit to Cancer Center

Queen Camilla favored one of her go-to designers for her latest royal engagement on Tuesday. The queen consort visited the Dyson Cancer Centre in Bath, England, and unveiled a plaque dedicating the latest addition to the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust.

For the special occasion, Queen Camilla went with one of her tried and true designers, wearing a Fiona Clare dress. The midi dress featured three-quarter-length sleeves and a hemline below the knee. When it came to the pattern of the dress, the look featured an allover leaf design, with vines of fronds twisting in abundance on the fabric.

Queen Camilla completed her look with a pair of camel-colored pumps and wore her staple pieces of jewelry courtesy of Kiki McDonough and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Among Queen Camilla’s favored designers, Fiona Clare has been a recent favorite. Prior to her visit to unveil the plaque at the Dyson Cancer Centre, Queen Camilla attended Ebor Festival in York, England, on Aug. 24. For the opening of the state-of-the-art complex called Bustardthorpe Development at the York Racecourse, the queen consort opted for a blue Fiona Clare ensemble.

The look featured ornate embroidery around the collar, front placket and cuffs. The embroidered details on the column dress featured delicate florals and vines with leaves, evocative of a whimsical summertime inspiration — not dissimilar to the type of pattern Queen Camilla favored for her Tuesday engagement.

Between Fiona Clare and her other go-to designer Anna Valentine, Queen Camilla consistently demonstrates that comfort and style and can go hand-in-hand.

Both designers favor the streamlined silhouette Queen Camilla has consistently worn throughout King Charles III’s reign. But the queen consort is rarely averse to playing with patterns, favoring a range of looks from floral inspriation to animal prints and more.
