Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom and First Lady Brigitte Macron of France came together to celebrate the Entente Littéraire Prize Award Ceremony on Wednesday in London. The Entente Littéraire is a U.K.-France literary prize for young adult literature launched in September 2023. The two women seemingly coordinated their sartorial statements, styling looks with complementary colorways.
Macron opted for a coatdress in a darker shade of cornflower blue. The look featured sharp shoulders with blazer-like inspiration and sharp lapels. The ensemble also included two horizontal buttons at the cinched waist.
The monochrome look was complete with a high-neck bodice Macron wore beneath the coatdress. Macron completed the look with pointed-toe pumps. Her hair was styled in a voluminous short style with some fringe. Her makeup also included a faint smoky eye.
Queen Camilla opted for a tweed look with a coordinated gray midi dress and blazer. The blazer of the queen consort’s ensemble featured soft shoulders and sharp lapels, along with cinched waist.
The dress included an A-line cut. Queen Camilla accessorized with a brooch on one of the lapels of her blazer. Departing from the monochrome look Macron chose, Camilla opted for black boots with a coordinated bag and gloves.
This isn’t the first time Queen Camilla and France’s First Lady Macron have coordinated their attire for an event. Last June, the two women coordinated in all-white ensembles for an event at the British Normandy Memorial to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
While Queen Camilla wore a white Anna Valentine dress with coordinated Philip Treacy hat, Macron opted for a long-sleeve white coatdress with large, exposed buttons and a defined belted waist. The two looks gave the effect of a symbolic united front between the queen consort and French first lady.
Given the Entente Littéraire is a newly established joint venture between the two women and nations, the respective sartorial statement of each woman added to the unifying message behind the occasion.
