Pandora is the latest brand taking part in the Lunar New Year celebrations ahead of the beginning of the Year of Snake on Jan. 29. The jewelry brand released a collection filled with snake motifs and an accompanying campaign featuring the tag line, “Feel the spark. Pass it on. Ignite luck.”
The collection includes new Pandora charms as well as a few new bracelets. All items in the edit thematically tie back to an aspect of the Lunar New Year celebration, whether related to the Year of the Snake or general symbolism.
The charms in the collection include the Snake Green Murano Glass Dangle Charm ($95), which is cast in a 14-karat gold-plated patterned snake and set with sparkling stones that rest on top of a circle of deep green Murano glass. It symbolizes intelligence and transformation. On the same theme is the Curled Snake Charm ($95), a 14-karat gold-plated charm designed with a scaled pattern, encrusted with 28 beads, three micro cubic zirconia and microbead eyes.
The Lunar New Year Lucky Charm set ($230) features three charms: the Lucky Bag Charm, which is a sterling silver pouch covered in red enamel and is inscribed with the Chinese character Fu (福) on both sides, symbolizing happiness and good luck; the Lucky Amulet Double Dangle Charm, which is shaped like a red envelope, a traditional symbol of good luck in Chinese culture and is decorated with auspicious cloud patterns, and the Hot Air Balloon Murano Glass Dangle Charm is a red Murano glass balloon encased in microbeaded panels.
Outside of the charms are bracelets that carry the same motifs. For example, the Snake Clasp & Chain Bracelet ($165) ties back to the Year of the Snake theme and features a 14-karat gold-plated snake head motif, which creates the clasp for the bracelet paired with the iconic snake chain in sterling silver.
