InStyle magazine hosted its first Imagemaker Awards on Thursday in Los Angeles, where the teams behind the looks and images of some of the most visible entertainers were celebrated. Stylists Tara Swennen, Molly Dickson, Amadi Brooks and Warren Alfie Baker were named as recipients, as were beauty professionals Mai Quynh, Matt Rez and Jamie Richmond. Katie Qian, who has been behind looks from Tyla, Conan Gray and Camila Cabello, was named the New and Next Stylist.
Some of the guests opted for sheer styles, which have continued to appear on red carpets throughout 2024.
Chrissy Teigen
Chrissy Teigen attended the Imagemaker Awards in a black dress from Tom Ford‘s fall 2024 collection. The dress featured a halterneck and keyhole cutout. It incorporated sheer panels throughout and was designed during the tenure of Peter Hawkings, who has now been replaced at the brand by Haider Ackermann. Teigen accessorized with gold bangle bracelets. Styled by Alana Van Deraa, she also carried a black satin Lee Pouchet handbag from Tyler Ellis.
Lana Del Rey
A longtime supporter of Alessandro Michele, Lana Del Rey wore a look from the designer’s debut collection for Valentino. She had on a floor-grazing sheer dress with a furry shrug. True to Valentino and Michele, the tiered dress featured sparkling, ornate embellishments. Del Rey wore her hair up in a messy bun and chose a lined lip for glam. She was styled by Molly Dickson.
Ali Wong
Ali Wong swanned into the event and honored stylist Tara Swennen. She chose a pleated, ombré Iris Van Herpen dress with a cape.
Savannah Lee Smith
“Gossip Girl” reboot star Savannah Lee Smith, who is set to be a part of the new “Cruel Intentions” series, wore BCBG Max Azria’s sheer black Oly tiered dress with exposed corsetry.
