Kylie Jenner added texture to the red carpet at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday in New York. The influencer and reality star selected a feathered Jean Paul Gaultier dress from the label’s spring 2023 couture collection, which was designed by Haider Ackermann.
Stylists Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist have worked with Jenner since 2021, curating her looks at high-profile events such as the Academy Museum Gala, the Met Gala and Paris Fashion Week.
Jenner wore her dark tresses in a sleek updo, while her makeup consisted of winged eyeliner, pink blush and a matte nude lip.
“Haider Ackermann etched the formidable fashion legacy of Jean Paul Gaultier with his own inimitable hand — minimal and rigorous, yet with some sexual heat simmering underneath,” wrote WWD’s Miles Socha of the spring 2023 couture collection.
“Sometimes we forget the essence of his work, which was immaculate,” Ackermann said backstage. “I wanted to get back to what I love from him.”
Last week, the Kylie Cosmetics founder attended a New York pop-up for her canned vodka soda company, Sprinter, where she channeled the drink’s blue branding in a vintage navy Gianni Versace dress.
Dated to 1994, Jenner’s square-neck frock featured glossy fabric, giving it a wet look. She accessorized with silver peep-toe Christian Louboutin pumps and a crystallized Sprinter can.
Jenner launched her liquor brand earlier this year. The lineup includes four flavors: Black Cherry, Lime, Grapefruit and Peach. Kylie follows in the footsteps of her older sister, Kendall Jenner, whose 818 Tequila was founded in 2021.
The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards take place at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Oct. 28, with Cynthia Erivo hosting. Honorees at this year’s ceremony include Coach, Michael Kors, Annie Leibovitz and Erykah Badu, who receives the coveted Fashion Icon Award.
