Kristen Bell is the latest celebrity to put her stamp on the sheer trend — and the actress showed not one but two ways to wear the spring 2025 runway trend while out in New York City.
Bell did a quick outfit change from one sheer look to another in between appearances on “Good Morning America” and “The View” on Monday, where she was promoting her Netflix rom-com series “Nobody Wants This,” costarring Adam Brody. For the first look, Bell wore a white organza outfit featuring a see-through long-sleeve collared shirt with rolled-up sleeves and a matching midi pencil skirt. Styled by Nicole Chavez, the ensemble included the Peri sheer skirt and shirt by The Frankie Shop.
Bell accessorized her transparent look with cat-eye sunglasses, Anine Bing’s mini Luna leather bag, Lafayette 148 earrings and pointed-toe slingbacks. She kept all four for her second look.
For her second look, Bell wore a blue monochromatic combination of pieces by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini from the fall 2024 collection, which took inspiration from the 1950s silhouettes worn by Alfred Hitchcock’s heroines. She paired a Norma Kamali bralette with the brand’s stretch scuba fabric turtleneck jumper and wore the label’s A-line skirt in printed Neoprene.
“I wanted to keep the palette neutral,” Chavez explained to WWD, adding that she went for a look that’s “classic/timeless” and an “overall vibe [that’s] minimalist and effortless.”
It’s been a big month for the sheer trend, which has dominated the runway for spring 2025, including Khaite, Ralph Lauren, Jason Wu, Alaïa, Christian Siriano, LaQuan Smith, Grace Ling, Luar and Tory Burch. Sheer styles have also been trending on the red carpet, with celebrities favoring them at the recent MTV Video Music Awards and the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.
