Former NFL player Jesse Palmer has expanded his repertoire beyond the gridiron to become a football analyst. Now he can add fashion designer to his résumé.
Palmer has launched J. Palmer, a line of menswear essentials that is being sold on the Fanatics sports platform as well as at other select team retailers.
In a video introducing the collection, Palmer said when conceiving this line of apparel, he selected the pieces that were important to him personally. “If I had a duffel bag and put clothes in it, what would best suit my lifestyle for all the different things I do? Workout clothes, golf shirts, leisurewear at home, sweaters, blazers, button-up shirts — curated pieces that mix and match together to make me look and feel my best.”
The collection ranges from tailored joggers and quarter-zips to sport coats in performance fabrics with subtle team logos. J. Palmer has obtained the license for all 32 NFL teams as well as several NCAA collegiate teams including Palmer’s alma mater, the University of Florida Gators.
“My mom was a model and owned a modeling agency, so clothes were something that I was always aware of as a young boy,” he said. “I really became interested in men’s fashion when I was playing football with the Giants in New York, and I became exposed to the fashions of Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue and SoHo. This line for me is really about the ‘man on the go’ who cares about what he’s wearing and how he looks. He wants to be presentable, but always comfortable and confident.”
The debut fall collection includes 13 pieces with prices that range from $54.99 for a pocket T-shirt and $99.99 for a long-sleeve dress shirt to $174.99 for a blazer.
