The legendary Hotel del Coronado — known for its spectacular holiday experiences — is thrilled to announce its search for a Chief Holiday Officer for the 2023 season. This is a unique opportunity for a talented visual storyteller to be in-residence at the famed, iconic seaside resort to create captivating photos and videos about all of the resort’s holiday magic.
With its rich history and premier location on the beautiful island of Coronado in San Diego, The Del has long been recognized as a premier holiday destination. From its famous beachfront ice rink to its extraordinary holiday decorations, the hotel has captivated visitors with its festive atmosphere and warm hospitality for years.
Built in 1888 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1977, Hotel del Coronado is an American treasure with more than 135 years’ worth of stories to tell. The Del’s visionary founders, Elisha Babcock and H.L. Story, dreamed of building a seaside resort that would be “the talk of the Western world.” Since then, the resort has done just that, becoming a destination-defining living legend and a seaside tradition, visited by celebrities, dignitaries and U.S. presidents alike. Hotel del Coronado ownership continues to invest significant capital to ensure The Del continues its grand tradition of hospitality for generations to come.

It showcased the talents of Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon while also highlighting the hotel’s assets – a spectacular sun-drenched silhouette of Victorian architecture, the perfect backdrop for the film’s 1929 setting.

The Del’s Chief Holiday Officer will receive a complimentary three-week residency at theoceanfront property, including the luxurious residential-style villas at Shore House and BeachVillage. In addition to a hosted three-week stay at the storied resort, which has just undergone a $400M+ reimagination, the selected candidate will also receive $3,500 in compensation, a daily $250 food and beverage stipend, travel expenses and complimentary on-property programming to fully immerse them in The Del experience.

Applicants for The Del’s Chief Holiday Officer must have professional photography and videography skills, along with strong social media experience, particularly with video storytelling.
