Honda cuts EV investments by 30%, pivots to hybrids


Honda is the latest automaker to rein in their EV plans and double down on ICE and hybrids. By Stewart Burnett

Honda announced on 20 May that it would slash its investments through 2030 into electric vehicles (EVs) by 30%, taking the sum from JP¥10tr (US$69.3bn) down to JP¥7tr. The automaker cited slowing demand for EVs as the reason, and will instead focus on capturing the growing demand for hybrids.
