EXCLUSIVE: Chinese Pianist Lang Lang Becomes Global Ambassador for Dior

GOING GLOBAL: Lang Lang and Dior are taking their relationship global.

The renowned pianist, who has been a men’s ambassador for Dior in China since January 2023, will now represent the French fashion house around the world, Dior said Monday.

“Constantly seeking new sonic horizons, this virtuoso pianist is thus furthering his affinities with the house, extending an invitation to celebrate, more than ever, the special ties that have always united Dior with the magic of art and music,” it said in a statement.

The classical superstar has long-standing ties to luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, which owns Dior alongside a galaxy of other brands spanning fashion, beauty, watches and jewelry, and wines and spirits.

Dior has dressed Lang Lang for events including the Royal Variety Performance in London last December. That month, he also gave a sold-out recital at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. His new album, “Lang Lang – Saint-Saëns,” is set for release in March.

He’s been a brand ambassador for watchmaker Hublot since 2015, and performed at the Louis Vuitton show last June that marked the debut of Pharrell Williams as creative director of menswear at the brand.

Meanwhile, Moët & Chandon supplied the Champagne for his lavish wedding to fellow musician Gina Alice Redlinger at the Palace of Versailles in 2019.

Dior underlined the importance of his philanthropic activities, namely through the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, which supports young musical talent.

The men’s roster of global ambassadors at Dior also includes Taiwanese singer and musician Jay Chou; actor Robert Pattinson; K-pop star Jimin of boy band BTS; soccer player Kylian Mbappé; K-pop quintet Tomorrow x Together, aka TXT, and Monaco businessman Pierre Casiraghi, the grandson of Grace Kelly.
