LONDON — Chanel’s global chief executive officer Leena Nair, celebrity makeup artist Lisa Eldridge, Marks & Spencer’s managing director Richard Price, Supreme Creations’s CEO Smruti Sriram and Glenisla’s managing director John Culbert have been named in the annual New Year Honors list, which is compiled and issued by the British government.
The awards are handed out during the year by King Charles III and members of the royal family.
Nair received a Commander of the Order of the British Empire, or CBE, for her services to the retail and consumer sector.
Eldridge, Price, Sriram and Culbert are being awarded the Order of the Companions of Honour, or CH, for their outstanding achievements in British fashion and cosmetics.
“I go into 2025 with my heart full, as I am able to share the news that I have been honored for my services to the fashion and beauty industries by His Majesty King Charles III, in his New Year Honours List,” said Eldridge, who is the global creative director of Lancôme and founder of her eponymous makeup brand.
“I can’t thank my friends, family, clients and community enough for all your support over the years. To have my work and contribution to fashion and beauty recognized so significantly, means more to me than I can put into words,” she added.
More than 1,200 Britons have been recognized and are set to receive royal accolades for their work in a variety of industries in the 2025 honors list.
Author Jacqueline Wilson and actors Carey Mulligan, Sarah Lancashire and Stephen Fry were also named in the New Year Honors list.
“I am of course delighted to have the knighthood — I shall expect a great deal more deference from you than I have received in the past. You must never sit in my presence. (Don’t be put off by this elegance — I still pick my nose),” Fry said on Instagram. He is being knighted for his services to mental health awareness, the environment and charity.
