Cate Blanchett Combines Candy Stripes With Bold Hues in Rochas Skirt Suit for ‘Rumours’ Red Carpet Premiere at London Film Festival 2024

Cate Blanchett brought a pop of color to the red carpet for the premiere of her upcoming film “Rumours” during the London Film Festival on Sunday. The political drama, starring Blanchett, hits theaters on Friday.

For the red carpet event, Blanchett chose a coordinated skirt suit featuring contrasting warm and cool tones from Rochas’ resort 2025 collection. The two-time Oscar winner wore a jacket and a high-waisted pencil skirt with red and white stripes.

The jacket featured sharp lapels and subtle translucent buttons, while the coordinated skirt featured fabric draping. To enhance the white and red-striped ensemble, Blanchett introduced a contrasting pop of color. She wore a turquoise button-down shirt with exposed sleeves beneath the jacket, which matched her pointed-toe shoes in a similar hue. The ensemble was curated by stylist Elizabeth Stewart.

“Rumours” marks Blanchett’s second project debuting at the 2024 London Film Festival. On Thursday, she attended the red carpet special screening of “Disclaimer,” an Alfonso Cuarón-directed series where she stars alongside Sacha Baron Cohen and Kevin Kline.

For the occasion, Blanchett opted for a look from Stella McCartney’s spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection. The actress wore a black suit with billowing high-waisted trousers and a single-breasted blazer. The look also included a gold dove statement necklace — a reference to the bird motif seen throughout McCartney’s collection, which debuted during Paris Fashion Week last September.
