Billie Eilish, Ramy Youssef and More Stars Wearing Artists4Ceasefire Pins on Oscars 2024 Red Carpet, Explained


Many stars from all corners of Hollywood are showing their support for a ceasefire in Gaza on Sunday at this year’s Oscars red carpet in Los Angeles by wearing pins provided by Artists4Ceasefire.

Billie Eilish arrived at the ceremony in a Chanel skirt suit, which she accessorized with the group’s bright red badge. Ramy Youssef and “Four Daughters” director Kaouther Ben Hania were also spotted wearing pins.

Artists4Ceasefire is a collective of actors, musicians and filmmakers that have come together in response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Israel and Palestine. The group supports an immediate and permanent ceasefire, the release of all of the hostages and for the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza.

Oscar nominees including Mark Ruffalo and Ben Hania have been spotted wearing Artists4Ceasefire pins throughout awards season.

Film and television stars including Ebon Moss-Bachrach from “The Bear,” Tony Shalhoub from “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” Arian Moayed from “Succession,” Khalid Abdallah and Salim Daw from “The Crown” and Emma Seligman, director of “Bottoms,” wore their pins at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards, respectively.

Additionally, musicians such as Annie Lennox and Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker of BoyGenius all amplified the ceasefire message with their pins at the Grammys. Lennox also called for a ceasefire from the stage during her performance of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which honored the late singer, songwriter and activist, Sinéad O’Connor.

Over 380 actors, filmmakers and musicians have signed onto a letter urging President Biden and global leaders to call for a permanent ceasefire, the safe return of all the hostages and immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Among the notable list of Artists4Ceasefire signatories include Jennifer Lopez, Quinta Brunson, Jessica Chastain and Cate Blanchett.
