New York Film Festival 2024 kicked off on Friday with a bevy of A-list stars and venerated talent hitting the red carpet prior to the NYFF premiere of select films. Angelina Jolie was on hand on Sunday, with three of her children, for the festival’s debut of her film “Maria,” in which she plays the renowned late opera singer Maria Callas.

Jolie wasn’t the only star at the event. Oscar-nominated actress Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Lily Rabe arrived on Friday for the premiere of “Nickel Boys.” Ahead, see what the stars wore to the 2024 New York Film Festival.

Angelina Jolie favored an ethereal aesthetic for her attire at New York Film Festival on Sunday. The Oscar-winning actress wore a vintage piece courtesy of Madame Grès. The flowing, sleeveless dress featured a defined waist with subtle ruching on the delicate white fabric. Jolie paired the look with black heels and glittering pieces of silver jewelry.

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor brought drama to New York Film Festival on Friday. The Oscar-nominated “King Richard” star attended the premiere of “Nickel Boys” wearing a selection from Thom Browne’s fall 2023 couture collection. The voluminous look featured a dramatic coat with a nautical theme and included gold buttons and detailing. The piece made its runway debut during Paris Couture Week in July 2023.

Lily Rabe opted for ornate embroidery for her look at New York Film Festival on Friday. Joining Ellis-Taylor for the premiere of “Nickel Boys,” Rabe wore a white, sleeveless dress with a high-waisted skirt featuring delicate embroidered squares. Subtle floral details were also featured in the piece, including a sheer band at the waist with flowers and a band beneath the bustline.

New York Film Festival 2024 began Sept. 27 and concludes on Oct. 14. Films making their NYFF debut include “Maria,” starring Angelina Jolie, “Blitz,” directed by Steve McQueen and starring Saoirse Ronan and “Emilia Pérez,” starring Selena Gomez, Zoë Saldaña and Karla Sofía Gascón. The first New York Film Festival was held in 1962.
